Last sermester, I was struck by Fairmount Park which is a nature park near the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is a large park beside the Schuylkill River. I can ride my bike or walk to travel the whole park. I see numerous different trees and flowers like: willows, daisies, maples and oaks. I feel very close to nature there and it is enjoyable. Next to the river is a pathway around the park. I can see some people row boats on the river and many ducks fly down to the grass. It is a beautiful landscape picture. It seems like a good relaxing place in the busy city. If I have some stress from my studies, I will go to this park with my peers. It is a good way for me to relax.

Ziyou

Last week I went back to Guangzhou China, I went to The Museum of Nan Yue Kings’ Tombs. It is located on Jie Fang Bei Rd opposite Yue Xiu Park. It collects all the excavations from Nanyue King's tombs the oldest and largest tombs of Han dynasty, say 1800 years ago. It covers about 14,000 square meters. I think what attracts me most is the history and culture that the museum reminds people. It collects and displays amazing archeological findings such as jade suit, jade ornaments, bronze mirror and ovens, musical instruments, potteries, gold and silver ornaments. You wouldn’t believe that those items were used 1800 years ago or even longer. To know the life of the city, I would recommend my friends to visit the museum . I believe it is the best place to know about Guang Zhou. It will be worth it.

Ziyou

Last Monday, I went to a exhibition on campers. That was a good show which make by Janpanese students, they were exchange studendts to the Uarts. The whole exhibition showed some individaul art work, all the art work included many troditional Janpanese art images and wards. I liked one of the art work, that was a small garden, it made by some paper and wood. I liked it because the reason was it contained a lot of Janpanese culture in that work. It looked like a mini house and you could go inside the house and saw many paintings. It atracted to me. I liked this show because I could widen my eye to know about other langarges and cultural things. It was a good chance to exchange my ideas with other students who were from other countries . (For the Nicole class, I need renew and fix my grammar for this blog) Ziyou.

Exhibition

I went to a illustration exhibition. The exhibition was the paintings by Leo and Diane Dillon. I went with My girlfriend. Because my girlfriend's major is Illustration, we went there to look and get some inspirations. It is in the Anderson Building on 7th floor. I liked the paintings in the gallery. He used lot of colors and most of them colored red. I will recommand this exhibition to the people whose major is Illustration. Even those people who has different major can enjoy the exhibition. It was not hard for me to understand.

The Franklin Institute

We went to the Franklin Institute for the Leonardo Da Vinci's workshop exhibition last Monday. It was a great chance to visit the Franklin Institute. In Da Vinci show I saw many his journal and some his famous painting such as The Last supper and Mona Lisa. They also made many model which from Da Vinci's journal. They not only showed the drawing from his journal but also showed the models so we can see the design in 2D and 3D at same time. There is one thing I really like is that they have some screen which we can use to look the paintings very detail. I love this function a lot! After seeing Da Vinci show, we walked around to see other exhibitions in Franklin Institute. I felt this museum have many things and displays for children. It's very different than the Da Vinci show because there are a lot of storyboard we have to read and I think the words and displays are a little bit difficult for children in Da Vinci show. Also, compare other exhibitions, other exhibition have more interactional tools for children. In addition, the words they used on storyboard are easier than the Da Vinci show. If people are interested in engineering, machine or architecture, I would recommend the Leonardo Da Vinci's workshop exhibition to them. Also, I think the Franklin Institute is very good museum for parents bring their children to go together.

Franklin Institute (Science Museum)

Last Monday, in our Cultural class, we went to a science museum named Franklin Institute. Lot of interesting things were there. I could be a weather anouncment and there was a big area, we could feel the earthquakes. Other than the Science museum, an exhibition of Leonardo da vinci was going on in Franklin Institute. I saw lot of his paintings and things that he created. It was very intersted and I bought lot of things from the market in Franklin Institute. Especially the glasses that I wear was most thing that I like.

I went The Franklin Institute. It had a lot of interesting exhibits. and there had paintings of Leonardo Davinci. But It was fake. and there were many interesting exhibits in first floor I had experienced it for fun. and close to my house I was comfortable.
